1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and Wrinkled Brain LLC ("Company," "we," "us"), governing your use of the Filiz mobile application ("App," "Service").

By downloading, installing, or using Filiz, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to use Filiz:

  • Age: You must be at least 16 years old to use Filiz. Users aged 16-17 have restricted access (GLP-1 Companion mode is unavailable). Users under 16 cannot complete onboarding.
  • Device: Filiz requires an iPhone running iOS 18 or later.
  • Apple ID: A valid Apple ID is required for downloading the App and for optional iCloud sync.

By using Filiz, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Description of Service

Filiz is a weight tracking application that provides:

  • Weight recording with trend smoothing (EWMA analysis)
  • Weight fluctuation explanation cards based on scientific mechanisms
  • Weight projection based on mathematical models
  • GLP-1 medication tracking companion (dose, plasma estimation, injection sites)
  • Maintenance mode for weight stability monitoring
  • N-of-1 self-experiments for lifestyle changes
  • Body measurement tracking
  • Apple HealthKit integration
  • Data export (CSV, JSON, PDF)

Filiz is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or healthcare provider. See our Health Disclaimer for important information about the limitations of our Service.

4. User Accounts

Filiz does not require account creation. The App operates anonymously using your device and optional Apple ID for iCloud sync. There is no username, email registration, or password system.

Your subscription status is managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat using an anonymous identifier derived from your Apple ID.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

5.1 Free Tier

Filiz offers a free tier that includes basic weight tracking, EWMA trend analysis, HealthKit sync, and home screen widgets. The free tier is available indefinitely with no obligation.

5.2 Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through the following subscription plans:

  • Monthly: Billed monthly, cancel anytime
  • Annual: Billed annually at a discounted rate, cancel anytime
  • Lifetime: One-time purchase for permanent access (where available)

Premium features include: Explanation Engine, GLP-1 Companion mode, Maintenance mode, N-of-1 Experiments, and PDF health reports.

5.3 Free Trial

New users may be eligible for a 7-day free trial of Premium features. No credit card is required during the trial period. After the trial ends, you will be clearly notified and may choose to subscribe or continue with the free tier.

5.4 Billing & Cancellation

All billing is handled through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's Terms and Conditions for in-app purchases. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

To cancel your subscription:

  • Open iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Filiz → Cancel
  • Or use the subscription management link in Filiz's Settings

Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process payments directly.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Attempt to bypass subscription verification or access Premium features without authorization
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
  • Use the App on behalf of a minor under 16 years of age

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Filiz application — including but not limited to its design, code, algorithms (EWMA implementation, projection models, scenario engine), user interface, content, trademarks, and trade dress — are owned by Wrinkled Brain LLC.

"Filiz," the typographic "f" mark, and "Weight is not a number. It's a story." are trademarks of Wrinkled Brain LLC.

Your data belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your weight entries, health data, or any personal information you provide to the App.

8. Data & Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to Filiz. Our data practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy. Key highlights:

  • Health data is stored locally on your device
  • Optional iCloud sync uses end-to-end encryption
  • No third-party analytics SDKs
  • No data is sold or shared with advertisers
  • You can delete all data at any time

9. Data Export & Portability

You may export your data at any time in the following formats:

  • CSV: Full weight and measurement history
  • JSON: Structured data export for developers
  • PDF: Formatted health report suitable for sharing with healthcare providers

Data portability is a core principle of Filiz. Your data is yours, always.

10. Disclaimers

10.1 No Medical Advice

Filiz does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The App is intended for informational and self-tracking purposes only. Weight projections, explanation cards, GLP-1 plasma estimates, and all other outputs are mathematical approximations — not medical guidance. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional. 10.2 "As Is" Service

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

10.3 Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy in our calculations (EWMA, BMR, TDEE, projections, GLP-1 plasma estimates), these are mathematical models with inherent limitations. Actual results may vary significantly from projections. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any calculations or outputs.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wrinkled Brain LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the App
  • Any action taken based on information provided by the App
  • Unauthorized access to your data
  • Data loss due to device failure, software bugs, or other technical issues
  • Interruption or cessation of the Service

In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wrinkled Brain LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using Filiz at any time by uninstalling the App. You may also delete all your data before uninstalling via Settings → Data → "Delete My Data."

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Premium features if we detect subscription fraud or violation of these Terms. We will not delete your local data — only restrict access to Premium functionality.

14. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of Filiz after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Sheridan County, Wyoming.

If you are located in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
